The days leading up to your lip injection appointment can feel a little intimidating at first. I believe educating my patients allows them to understand and make the best decisions for their individual needs. Here is my little prep guide to help you prep for your lip date with me!
One Week Prior To Lip Injections:
- Avoid blood thinning over-the-counter medications such as ASA, Ibuprofen, and Aleve
- Avoid suplements, including St. John's Wort, Ginkgo Biloba, Primrose Oil, Garlic, Ginseng, and Vitmain E
Two Days Prior To Lip Injections:
- Avoid topical products such as retinol, glycolic acid or any "anit-aging" products
- Avoid waxing, bleaching, tweezing or hair removal cream to the area being treated
- Start taking Arnica, it may help lessen the brusing
24 Hours Prior To Lip Injections:
- Do not drink alcholic beverages
- Hydrate well
- Start antiviral treatment if you are prone to cold sores to help prevent an eruption
- Inform me if you are feeling unwell at all
The Day Of Lip Injections:
- Arrive to appointment with a cleansed face
- Be prepared for mild swelling
- Be prepared to stay out of the heaet for the afternoon
- Be prepared to ice the injection area, it will help with overall downtime
- Be prepared to be obsessed with your new lips and take all the selfies
